Spy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how SPY ("the app", "we") handles information when you use the app on iOS. SPY is a social deduction party game. We designed it to work without accounts and without collecting personal information ourselves.

Short version: We don't ask for your name, email, or account. The app shows ads (Google AdMob) and uses anonymous analytics (Firebase). Nearby Devices multiplayer works entirely over your local network — nothing from your games is sent to our servers, because we don't have any.

Information We Do Not Collect

SPY does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or location. Game content — words, roles, timers, and results — is processed on your device and is never uploaded to us.

Nearby Devices Multiplayer (Local Network)

The Nearby Devices game mode connects players' phones directly over the local network and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi (Bonjour service _spygame._tcp). When you host or join a game:

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of SPY shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising identifier, IDFA), IP address, and coarse usage data to serve and measure ads. This collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Analytics & App Configuration (Firebase)

We use Google Firebase (Analytics and Remote Config) to understand aggregate usage — for example, which game modes are played most — and to tune app settings remotely. This data is anonymous and aggregated; we cannot identify you from it. See Firebase's privacy documentation for details.

In-App Purchases (Superwall & Apple)

Purchases such as "Remove Ads" are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details. We use Superwall to present the purchase screen; see the Superwall Privacy Policy.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, they are delivered through Apple's push notification service. You can disable them anytime in iOS Settings.

Children's Privacy

SPY is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will address it.

Data Retention

We do not operate servers and do not store your data. Data collected by third parties (Google AdMob, Firebase, Superwall) is retained according to their own policies linked above.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/EEA under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because we do not hold personal data ourselves, such requests generally apply to the third-party services above. You can also:

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
